Now working London on 127.1. Reporting a possible landing gear problem, priority routing to LGW.

Following traffic being advised he may have trouble vacating the r/w.

Just going over LHR where a phenomenon reported on PPRUNE is evident. Landing r/w is 09L but there's an A380 using 09R. Apparently avoids wake separation problems with other a/c following it on usual landing runway.

Parked short of the stands, OPS2 carrying out inspection.

Whatever the problem was it affected the machine's automatics and they were flying it manually.

At one point, given a routing 'direct Midhurst' from a little way SE of here, they asked to be given a heading to fly instead. Seemed that would make things easier for them, possibly outside the range within which Midhurst VOR, as opposed to a computer representation of its position, was useable?

(maybe a question for FF - I've been fascinated by the 'how do they do that' bit of aviation since my teens)

How do you obtain this information?
 BA2945 / SHT17S squawk 7700 - Bromptonaut
IIRC www.flightradar24.com/ can be set to alert user if an aircraft is using the emergency transponder code 7700.

I am a gifted oracle. I have swopped my magic grotto for a somewhat suburban setting, and the faithful no longer swarm and gather around my cave portal for wise counsel, prophetic predictions or precognitions of the future foretold to me by the gods, but I still manage to convey the important news

Brompie may of course be much more mundane.

Edit 07:33, and quicker off the mark.

Regulars on here have been well aware of that since early 2010.

Unfortunately your aircraft has diverted to Paris Orly airport due to a passenger welfare issue. We will be continuing onwards to Paris as soon as this passenger has been assisted. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

That'll be handy for the people who want to go to Valencia.

I presume they actually meant to say "We will be continuing onwards to VLC....."

Now scheduled to leave Paris 21.00 (local time?)

 More EZY News - Bromptonaut
Meanwhile another easy flight has to shed a few hundred kilos payload due to unusual weather affecting a marginal runway:

Passengers moaning that it wasn't the fatties who were put off!!!!

Could have descended to FL280 due to loss of autopilot - manual flight not permitted in RVSM airspace.

BE1338 LCY (london city) to EDI Edinburgh, squawk 7700 over Oakham. Looks like it might be diverting

Just turned over Mossley...heading towards us...might hear his engines soon if he circles a bit.

Same here Sherley....didn't see it at all once it had passed over Stockport. Hope they got down all right.

There were other flights coming in after it on runway 1.
 BE1338 - RattleandSmoke
I assume it got down ok, I am stuck in Heald Green all afternoon and was staggered at how this PIA twin jet was flying over Finney Lane. Must have been 300 feet at the most. Probably an A330 or 777, I can't tell the difference.
 BE1338 - Bromptonaut
It would be a 777. PIA used to fly A310s to Leeds but that service ended in early summer.

My first thought was that 300' might be an illusion based on the 777's size shape. When Birmingham's landing towards north west inbounds from south and east come over here around 8000'. The Emirates 777 looks much lower than usual A32x/737 types but in fact is just mahoosive.

Heald Green though is only around a mile from Ringway's runway so 300' would probably be about right for a correct and stable approach.
