Samsung Galaxy S4 mini dual SIM - Mike H
I've managed perfectly well without a smart phone to date, and don't fancy carrying around a slice of house brick with me, but I can see the odd advantage to buying a smart phone. Having done some research, I'm thinking of perhaps one of the above. Anyone here got either the normal S4 mini or the dual SIM version?

My needs are simple. Holding music on it is of no interest. A GPS app might be useful, as would a reasonable camera for when I don't want to drag one around. There are one or two specialist apps that I would use for managing our holiday apartment, and the ability to pick up emails on the move would be good. Other than that my needs are simple - texting and phone calls (gasp), which is all I have now and 99% of the time is perfectly adequate. Dual SIM is not negotiable, I live in Austria and need to have UK and Austrian numbers simultaneously active.

Dual SIM phones aren't popular in the UK. But I've thought one would be handy - personal and work SIMs in one phone. The HTC One and the One (M8) are meant to be amongst the best for managing two SIMs. They are bigger and more expensive than the SGSS4 mini.

The second SIM will be 2G/3G only and of course not be data enabled. But calls can be received on both SIMs at anytime.

I forgot to mention that I currently use a Samsung dual SIM, but it's just an ordinary mobile with calls & texts - no internet, no bluetooth, no wifi, just a basic text and calls jobbie in a very manageable size. But it's perfect for its current use. The great advantage is that you can assign different tones to calls and texts depending on which SIM is receiving the call/text, whereas my wife has a Nokia dual SIM and you can't customise then.

I've done a bit of research, and looked at a few phones in a shop window yesterday, couldn't believe how big some of the smartphones are. I wouldn't want to go any bigger than the S4 mini, and that's pushing the boundaries for me. I can't understand how anyone would want to carry some of them around.

If you have a dual SIM phone with two numbers, one for work and one for private, can you turn one phone to answer phone when you don't want to be disturbed?
