Effective use of advertising - Crankcase
Not sure if this is motoring or just clever advertising, but I think it works quite well.

Under two minutes.

Clever - what technology is being used to send whatever is being sent to the mobiles in the cinema?

No need to send anything, just add a lot of beeps, warbles and bongs to the soundtrack.

Is it even real, or just an imaginative way of getting the message to people watching the video? All those people look a bit too absorbed to me - when I go to the cinema everybody is looking at their phones during the ads anyway.

Mobile marketing can now message you according to where you are, but typically depends on you downloading an app and consenting to receive the SMSs and share your location.

Just location based SMS. I was reading about a store some time back who were looking at sending passers-by a text with an offer as they walked past the shop. Might have been one of the burger or pizza emporiums.

This is where iBeacons is going. If you have an iPhone then you're going to get iBeaconed wherever you go pretty soon now. It's already in ios 7.

Not just near a shop, but where you are in that shop (or museum or casino) it's that precise. Microlocation technology.

Clever advert and gets message across but the whole thing looks a set up - very rarely do I hear any phones when at the cinema so why did they all have their phones still on?
