Don't mess with these cats - Armel Coussine
A number of assassinated Gandhis would confirm that it is dangerous to offend Sikhs, who have old-fashioned warrior traditions.

Last Saturday's comic had a startling colour photo (p. 20) showing two groups of Sikhs, very similar apart from the saffron and blue turbans worn by the groups, frozen in the act of attacking each other with curved sabres (seven visible in the photo for 11 people). No blood can be seen, but the accompanying piece said two had been killed and 10 injured. This took place in the Sikhs' holiest place, the Golden Temple in Amritsar.

There was something on one of the channels last night on Sikhism, made apparently very recently. It didn't mention this incident, and I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else either. Why?

Does anyone here have knowledge of or insight into this?

Nothing mainstream that I have noticed. But I don't notice everything these days.

Reuters, Washington Post, ITN, Guardian, BBC news, ITV, Independent, Daily Telegraph, CBS, Scotsman, .........

Apart from them, a total news black-out. :)

The Telegraph is my comic. The photo it ran was a great one, like a shot of ballet dancers. Perhaps I should read the others too.

It's a relief in a way. I wouldn't like to think the heart had gone out of the yellow press.
