Say it takes an extra 30(?) seconds and it's a 3kW 'rapid boil' kettle. So that's 3 * 30 / (60 * 60) = 0.025 units - that wouldn't be significant in our house (15 units per day).
EDIT: perhaps 30 seconds isn't realistic for a whole kettle - 2 mins? 4 times a day? That's 0.4 units - perhaps starting to be worth thinking about.
