 Hargreaves Lansdown - Manatee
Another public service announcement.

If you use HL, you may be aware that they have changed their charges. Whereas there was no charge for holding funds, other than the opaque kickbacks to HL from managers and £2 monthly platform fees on cheap trackers, they are now moving to charging 0.45% annually on the value of funds held (it tapers a bit on large amounts).

The 'loyalty' rebates on the dirty funds (the type with commissions hidden in the management fees) have been increased more or less to compensate, but in some cases I am actually paying higher fees.

They have also introduced 'clean' versions of most funds with lower charges and no loyalty rebates. In some funds I have, switching to these would leave me worse off.

If you are an HL customer I urge you to check how it affects you. In some cases they have cut the new fees for customers who have objected. They will be getting a phone call tomorrow.
