New South-Asian construction process - VxFan
Sent to me via email:-

The recent, horrible and tragic building collapses in South Asia have already resulted in the adoption of new building construction standards and practices ... in a regulatory effort to ensure this type of disaster never again occurs.

Only a month after more than 1,100 Bangladeshi garment workers lost their lives in the collapse of a badly-built and poorly-maintained eight - story building, the new building code has - thankfully - gone into force ... and its rigid practices are already being applied by highly-skilled and properly-trained construction teams labouring on job-sites all across the sub-continent.

Especially for those of you with some construction work in your background, I give you this. Love the rhythm for the dancers

You have to admire their ingenuity.

Brings pile-driving to whole new meaning.

Wonder if any had haemorrhoids?

I am assuming (never assume!) they are driving the pile into wet concrete. If that's how soft the ground is... well how stable would that be.

The original reference to the factory that collapsed... that was not because it was poorly built. It was the generators and vibrations from thousands of sewing machines. A modern building in this country built for say office use and then used as a factory might have some problems too.

Sorry, I know it's meant to be a humorous thread but references the tragedy in Bangladesh is a bit in poor taste.

Funny video though Dave :-)
