The Enigma of Nic Jones..... - Haywain

There's a film on BBC4 at 10.00 this evening entitled 'The enigma of Nic Jones'. Nic was a fabulous guitarist and singer who I greatly admired (an understatement) in the period between 1974 and 1982; in '82, his career was tragically cut short when he hit a lorry carrying bricks on the way home from a gig.

It was assumed that he would never resume his musical career, but recently he has appeared at a few gigs with his son playing guitar to accompany him. Before his accident, I saw him 3 or 4 times at the old folk club in Bury St Edmunds above, what is now, the Cannon Brewery.

I believe that RP's wife is an acoustic guitar player - she will probably already be aware of this film.

Looks like a good night on BBC4 because the film is immediately followed by an hour of Richard Thompson!
