Rear Admiral Sir Sandy Woodward, who led the naval task force to the Falklands, has died.
No good setting off to Gib to sort the Spaniels out - according to Sir Sandy, without aircraft carriers or the Americans, Britain could never have retaken the Falklands.

He came across as a sensible sort of chap - if a little scruffy .

Top Man. He also made his feelings well known about the demise of the carriers and the Sea Harrier. We'll not see his like again in our lifetimes.

With an Admiral called "Sandy" our Navy was sunk anyway!
