Wimbledon Ladies - Strange Legwear - Meldrew
Over the last few days I have noticed that many lady players have strange bandages or apparatus strapped to their legs. Crepe bandages are obvious enough and clear to understand but some have flesh coloured or black plastic strips, coming from somewhere above the hemline, down the front or back of the leg to their knee joint. A Chinese girl had a bizarre black plastic cage round one of her knees. Is it perhaps to psyche your opponent up to suggest you are injured? I can't find them for sale in my latest issue of Bondage Weekly so I am puzzled!

There is just far too much tennis on the TV.
Unfortunately Mrs. R. is an avid fan. Luckily my laptop is on the table; I sit with my back to the TV and take my hearing aids out - which helps.
The downside is that if Mrs. R. makes a comment on anything at all, I don't hear her and she gets VERY cross!
I particularly dislike the transatlantic toned blather which goes on and on between games, sets and matches.
To make matters worse, the Lions tour is not available unless one pays buckets for a SKY sub.

I have to do the same Roger, when my partner has to watch Deal or No Deal, Strictly Anything, Corrie, Emmerdale etc. Actually, I don't take them out, I switch them off and they work as ear plugs which is a result!

....... Maybe they were doing a bikini wax and just forgot to remove them......

Luckily both SWMBO and I like tennis and the telly will be firmly tuned to Wimbledon again this afternoon.... Come on Andy.........

Tomorrow I shall head for my local sports club and gym to watch the Welsh ( sorry Lions ) in the decider.... bring it on......

But this is what it actually is used for by the athletes....

Kinesiology Tape can be used before, during and after activities, and worn for three to five days without harming the skin. The use of Kinesiology Tape in one of its specific taping applications can help relieve muscle pain, promote the healing process and prevent injuries. It is also used to increase blood flow to muscles and joints, to soothe overworked muscles and to strengthen weak or fatigued muscles.

Thanks for the input, I wonder it it actually does anything or is a sort of placebo thing where people who use it think that it does? Murray's giant Polish opponent was covered in it yesterday when interviewed on TV - all over one of his knees. It seems to be more of a lady thing, at the moment.

I suppose it must do......

I did not really pay that much attention on our visit to Wimbledon last Saturday as I first noticed the tape being used in the gym where I go by one of the rugby guys whilst working on the weight machines and it is quite common these days.

For the elite athlete , anything legal that gives pain relief or a slight advantage will be used.....

On the court yesterday , Radwanska seemed to be more tape and bandage than woman.......

Certain camera angles, particularly when she was waiting to receive service (!) showed that there is plenty of woman. I was also amazed by the tenacity of her eyelashes; all that towel wiping and sweating and there they still were, looking like big black caterpillars!

He's 6'8" isn't he? Those long levers of his must put some serious stress on his joints.

I think my TV is broken, the screen has gone green with white lines and there is a yellow dot bouncing around. :-)

someone has plugged pong into it.

Anyone who suggested that there was little difference between tennis and pong to Mrs ON would be risking life and limb.

Although I agree I value getting fed and watered occasionally. :-)

"Haven't you been watching Wales sorry the Lions playing on streaming video - there if you know where to look Roger ! "

What a cracking game!! Absolutely fantastic.
Not new that Wales provided lots of players - look at 1971 backs in NZ - Edwards, John, Gibson (token Irish!!!) Dawes, Bevan, Gerald Davies (my favourite ever player!!) and JPR. 6 out of 7 Welsh!!! But they were best in world at the time - so pick them!!
Mind you, RP, at least Gatland realised his selection mistakes later and brought on Youngs for Hibbard, Cole for Jones, Manu for some Welsh guy (so excited I can't remember who!!), Farrell for Sexton and Murray for that welsh Scrum half chap!!!
Only joking - proud of them all no matter where from - good rugby overcomes national bias!
Never really noticed Alun-Wynn Jones much before but boy has he been a stand out player on this tour - what a guy! HalfP - brilliant, and so modest. Jamie Roberts - good interviewee as well as fantastic rugby player; Jones the prop - hard as nails, solid as a rock: George North huge, skilful (and so young!). And Faletau, Davies etc.... well, what to say?
Welsh boys did brilliantly but so did all the rest, but great to be able to cheer on all those non-English who make 6 nations so painful for an Englishman!!
As a final partisan point - (Tigers supporter here!!) Parling was "too lightweight" according to pundits but I thought he had a great game, capped by that try-saving tap-tackle.
Cheers to the Lions - great entertainment.
