Afternoon all,

Unusual looking aircraft been flying around Hurn today, can't work out what it is; looks like someone took a BAC One-eleven and glued VC10 wings on it. Wondered if anyone can identify it. Not managed a decent photo, but a short video clip here:-

It's some sort of business jet I think possibly a Gulfstream, Bombardier or the small airliner based Embraer 145 range.

Presumably no reg or serial can be seen on the vid.

Try a post in 'spotters balcony' on PPRUNE

Thanks, the Bombadier Global Express that the Sentiel is based on also looks very similar, not sure whether its this or the ERJ145, maybe I'll drive over to Hurn (sorry Bournemouth International Airport) and have a look.

Its the Embraer ERJ 145XR The "XR" has the "winglet" ends shown in your vid.

Rear quarter IDs are a pain but in this case I think they eliminate the CRJ.

The a/c in the vid has engines in streamlined nacelles. CRJ engines have a shrouded fan with the core extending aft.

Looks a lot like the Embraer to me. Flew on one to Italy a few times when BA has some services from Manchester (e.g. Bologna). Luggage went in the back and it took off and climbed like no other aircraft I have been on, i.e. very quickly.

Having posted a similar appeal over on the EGHH Yahoo! group, it transpires the aircraft in question is 9H-VJA Bombardier BD-700 Global Express:-

Yeah, might blow 69p on that, although my Wildfire S is getting so short of RAM it's difficult to get anything to install.
