On tour in the UK in September First time since 2009, complete with the "rumours" era line up tickets on sale as of 20 minutes ago.
Just got two for the London O2

Seems that they're on in Las Vegas when we're there in April
|
Wonder how much tickets are in Vegas?
Maroon 5 were putting on an outdoor show at South Lake Tahoe on my bday last July. Despite being only an hours drive, the $200 remaining tickets put me off. That pays for an awful lot of triple sec/tequila/sweet n sour mix (aka Margeritas) at the local Raleys.

They're doing a Brum gig too. The Lad was slightly upset that it came up after he'd spent his available cash booking to see The Who.

40 best selling albums
www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/the-official-top-40-biggest-selling-albums-of-all-time-1329/
Of those I have 22. Lot of albums missing from that list that I would have thought would be there - Tapestry by Carole King for example.
|
I wouldn't mind seeing Fleetwood Mac, but I am really really not a fan of big venues. Incidentaly my favourite album of theirs is Tango in the Night but I think it is because I was a little kid at the time that album came out.
Rumours as much as it is a great album was released five years before I was born.

Crikey! that lists scares me, I like to think my record collection is not that commercial. Own 180 CDs and 220 LPs according to my database.
I own 19 albums out of that top 40!! I am god smacked that Keane is in there, I own that album but its nothing special, certainly not heard it in the clubs for a few years. But still I am a Rammstein fan and that will never make the top 40 in a single week, yet alone of all time so I rest happy with that :)

talking of which, no-one in Norwich has any time for him..

Nothing from The Cosmic Dead then (eh, where's that joint) www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CktwQNpwNU

I've got the 'classic albums' BBC show somewhere, where they went into the recording of Rumours. Superb television.
|
Out of the top 40 I have 4 which is pleasing given my music collection is quite large.
That Albums programme on tv was enjoyable last night.

Rattle, try Rumours with a set of fresh ears with the nowledg about the relationships in the band. Brilliant songs, musicianship and production. It's before my time too, but is a superb piece of work that stands teh test of time, although t's not alone in that respect.
|
It is a brilliant album not disputing that :)

Rumours is a window onto the turmoil going on between the band members, hatred, affairs, passion, excess partying - drink and drugs. For years, it was always thought of as a collection of catchy songs, it is in fact superbly musically crafted and now gets the serious plaudits it deserves. For most people its a album of a moment in their lives and growing up.

>> #pretentious.

Why, Roger? Why does any analysis that is a bit deeper than normal have to get labelled "pretentious"?
In fact, such insights add to the appreciation and enjoyment of the album.

Looking at that list, I was surprised to see "Stars" by Simply Red placed at 13. I wouldn't doubt its credentials as a good album, but I didn't think it sold that well.
|
A quick glance and I have about 19 out of the 40 Zero listed. And for some I don't have the album listed but might have a compilation. So I didn't count any Beatles albums in the list but have the 'best of' albums (Blue and Red albums).
|
>>it is in fact superbly musically crafted
I can't make my mind up about that. To me it seems it may have just evolved that way rather than being deliberately sculptured so.
>>For most people its a album of a moment in their lives and growing up.
It certainly is that.
