My dad was driving tractors at age 8 - it is not that children cannot do it, it is health and safety that says they arent allowed to. I learnt to drive on farm tracks when I was 9 in my dads Citroen.

Impressive all the same, esp given how dinky he is and the level of control.

Would it be a bad idea to open up the mines & mills and put the children to work for 12 hours a day 6 days a week to put the Great back in Britain instead of them sitting in front of the TV / computer, yes, and I've even got a chimney that needs a sweep twice a year too. www.chiddingstone.kent.sch.uk/homework/victorians/children/working.htm

Watching my 2 year old nephew work his dads iphone is really quite astonishing - he can get through the right menus to get to the pictures or videos of his choice just as fast as his father.

My 6 year old granddaughter rolled he eyes skyward when I asked how to work her games console, I could almost hear her thinking "Don't you know anything granddad?" She is going to be fun when she is a teenager. :-)
