I think that I may take a 'leaf' from the LT takes and finally get round to replying to some of the non-humourous crap I received.
In my case, I do not give a stuff about overachieving grandchildren.

I like roundrobins for their verbosity and pomposity : see other thread - AC rant :-)

I've just bought Simon Heffer's book, 'The Christmas Letters'. He invites readers of his newspaper column to send in their unwanted round robins and has published the worst. I haven't started it yet but it might increase our hatred of the damn things.
My cousin, who I've only seen once in 50 yrs, remarried some years ago to a man with mature kids. We've met him once, at a funeral, and we didn't like him at all. So, we get a round robin, most of which is about his kids and their achievements plus a very interesting section on how he replaced all the internal locks on the windows during the year.
I don't know his ruddy kids, I don't give a tuppeny fart that one has recently changed his car ( didn't even get the mild frisson of interest as to what the cars were ) and I've never seen or been anywhere near his house to assess his windows !
We don't get them any more........I disgraced myself next time I spoke to cousin on the blower !
