I was supposedly sent a BACS payment on Thursday morning and it is still not showing in my account. How long do these normally take please.

Most banks now operate 'faster payments' and transfer is pretty well instant. Certainly so between the MIL's Barclays and our Santander account in either direction.
If for some reason it's still three working days then I guess you might be waiting until Tuesday but I thought that was the exception now.

Most pay by FP, but this was specifically BACS, well according to the sender anyway.

Three working days in my experience, but I much prefer the 'faster payments' method, as BACS will be delayed by weekends and bank holidays. I even had one that disappeared into someone else's account for a few weeks.

BACS is three working days. Useful info. here.

Thanks CG and to everyone else. Sorted.

For what its worth, if sending a largish amount to a new account it is a good idea to start with £1 then when you are sure that it has transferred correctly (by checking with the owner of the account) transfer the rest. That way you know that the account number is correct.
It can be a nightmare if the payment goes to the wrong account.

Also noted. Wise one. Thanks.
