loose Wall Tile - Robin O'Reliant
The grout in my tiled shower cubicle needs renewing as it is looking rather tired and flaking. I have noticed a couple of loose tiles which could do with re-fixing, has anyone any hints and tips for getting these off in one piece as the chance of finding a match is pretty slim and the entire bathroom wall is tiled so a complete job with replacements is not a route I want to go down.

The only way to remove a tile without damaging the ones around it is to hit it in the middle with a hammer and remove the pieces from the middle out towards the edge.

If the tile really is loose then it can be only the grout which is holding it in place. Carefullly grind out the grout with a Dremel or very small grinder and the tile may come off. Put loads of sheets on the floor in case the tile drops suddenly.

Failing that try a sink plunger on it - it was good enough for the Daleks !

If one is loose, its got water behind it. If its got water behind it, the wall is wet. The lot may have to come off anyway.

A way round the problem is to fit one of these, I have one, they are an excellent bit of kit.

A bit extreme for a loose tile though, but if the wall is wet..............

Mmm. loose tile, wet wall - I'd demolish the wall and rebuild it, just to be on the safe side.

And film it. He likes filming steam does our boy.

Filming that sort of steam could get you (him) in trouble. :-)
