The politics threads on here are what we hacks call WBD - worthy but dull. So how about one on eye candy in politics? The French election was notable for me only for the likely disappearance from view of Carla Bruni. But fair play to le Gauloise, they've come up with a worthy replacement in the shapely shape of Hollande's squeeze, Ms Valerie Trierweiler. I'm afraid this might come across as ungallant, but Ms. Jackson has suffered the ravages of time more visibly than some although in mitigation she's closer to 80 than 70.
