I'm neither pro- or anti- EU, in the same way as I couldn't give a toot if Scotland is in or out of the UK.
However, to even consider asking for a suprainflationary budget rise is more than a tad ballsy.
Pretty sure they can find a gigantic pile of efficiency savings first.
Even if we get a large portion of the EU budget back to the UK it's ultimately less efficient than keeping the cash here in the first place.

It's meaningless to me nearly 7% is high.Whatever they do people at the bottum of the pile will be hit hardest me thinks.

Now I'm in no way in favour of increases for increases sake, but looking on the bright side, assuming the increase is in €s, since the € has weaked against the £ by more than 8% in the last year then in £ terms we're paying less surely?
