Followed an 09 reg home from work tonight. Sad as it might seem, I turned the stereo off as the music coming from the VXR8's twin exhausts was far better than what I had in the CD slot or on the radio.

A glorious V8 burble, followed by a chorus of popping whenever he took his foot off the throttle.

Best exhaust note I've heard since following an Aston Martin DB9 Volante last May.

I *may* have been sitting behind a Holden CSV (same car as the VXR8) the other week at some traffic lights. And I *may* have opened both my front windows to listen to it drive off :)

It had a good number plate too, AU51 UFO.

There was one down the lane from where we lived before. The ex-brickie drove it with a certain amount of class. Lovely car and a good driver.

This example probably had the sports exhaust. They are very muted on standard pipes. My friend's made a lovely noise, but at more than a handful of paces away, you couldn't really hear it.

That was a cracking example of an impulse buy. He went into the Vauxhall dealership to buy an Insignia diesel. Came home with a VXR8. :-)

Nothing beats that V8 burble as a car engine noise IMHO.

Company car park these days is soul-destroying. A selection of variations on the theme of "agricultural clattering".
