My father drove a Leyland Octopus, the 'king of the road'. That 11.1 litre 0.680 engine used to tick over like a grandfather clock. My own grandfather owned a '5 ton' Foden; He was killed hauling timber with a Fowler traction engine. Memories, memories.
That transport caff price list looks a bit 70s to me.
Brilliant little cameo. I caught the end of a programme about coaching in the 1950s a few weeks ago, with voice-over by what sounded like June Whitfield. I wish I had a better head for technology - I guess things like this are available on 'Iplayer'? Although the BBC says it doesn't support the use of Iplayer outside the UK. Maybe I'll have a quick look on Amazon...

From when C4 still made proper programmes. I used to like the little features Tony Masons sometime did on old Top Gear too.

Thanks for posting that ST, if only it had been serialised over several episodes it could have come right up to date, through the peak and decline and eventual destruction of the British truck industry.
Infinitely better program than fly on the wall type things which i simply can't watch, i wonder what those proper old timers would say about their modern replacements.

You need to use the proxy server we pointed you to some time ago.

Thanks for jogging my memory - I'd forgotten because I don't use that sort of thing much. Perhaps you'd be kind enough to point me to it again? :-)
