 Citroen C5 II - Main dealer - you're 'aving a larf... - Dieselboy
C5 was in the dealer earlier for a warranty repair. I knew the NS foglight was out so asked them to change it, forgetting it wouldn't be at an 'indy' rate. They quoted near on £30 as it was a 'bumper off' job!! Forget it, I said - I'll do it myself.

So, £5.86 for a bulb. Looked in my manual, unscrewed two torx screws, pulled the light unit out. Noted connector was not on end of fog light bulb. Connected aforementioned connector and reassembled. Hey presto! I now have a spare bulb for when one does go....

I wonder if you had let the dealer do it whether they'd have let you know that was the problem, and done it under warranty as well ;-)

...They quoted near on £30...

How much labour would that buy - 15 or 20 minutes?

It takes that long to fill out the job card and get the bulb from stores.

Doesn't sound too bad to me.

More bothered that they pretended it was worse than is was....

VW dont charge any labour for changing a bulb if its in for a service - just the cost of the bulb
