They're repairing a water pipe about a hundred yards down the road from me. The road's completely blocked. They put a 'road closed ahead' and 'diversion' sign at the next available junction about twenty yards up the road from me. These signs take up all the nearside of the road, so anyone has to drive round them. The road closure is clearly visible from this point. I'd estimate about ten per cent of people have driven round the 'road closed ahead' and up to the blockage, only to then turn around!
I was out on the push-bike this afternoon, coming to a tee junction with two lanes, one for turning left, the other for turning right. A car was in the RH lane. I wanted to turn right and pulled up on his nearside. When the traffic cleared, he turned left!
We have to share the roads with people like this!
