There has recently been a 2 week crackdown on drivers using mobile phones while driving, and quite right too.
A breakdown of and ages and sex of of those apprehended is

Total number of women 25 years of age and under: 89
Total numbers women 26 years of age and over: 143
Total number of men 25 years of age and under: 181
Total numbers men 26 years of age and over: 505
Age and gender unknown: 82
I do wonder how, if everybody was personally stopped, gave their details and were dealt with by the police, 82 of them were age and gender unknown. I am getting on a bit but I find that name, voice and lumpy bits give good gender clues!

There was a crackdown in Norfolk a couple of months ago. Hasn't made any change though. Was followed for a couple of miles this morning by someone on a phone and last week had to brake to avoid a car emerging form a car park whilst the driver was dictating into a recorder.
