"Car insurance premiums will rise if the Government presses ahead with a ban on controversial injury referral fees, the boss of insurer Admiral has warned."

I must be missing something. The referral fees are only paid because those amounts, plus the resulting compo claims and inflated hire charges are recovered from insurers. Ergo the referral fees must result in a net increase in premiums, unless Admiral really believes those claims will be made anyway. But if that were the case, why are the claims management firms prepared to pay for rerferrals?

Absolutely bent. Have a no fault accident and your own insurer will quite probably refer you to an accident management company for the fee income, and the better to sting their competitors. You can bet they don't do that if the third party is insured with them too.

Most people contact their broker/middleman after a bump. They take referral fees and costs money for Ins Cos.

Most Admiral customers contact Admiral who receive referral fees when they sell data........... ie Admiral receives more Income than it pays out to others.
