Any ideas how the marketing industry is going to extract the maximum cash from us when electricity becomes common car fuel?
Will the fuel be graded, Regular or two star for runabouts. Super or three star for city cars. Fancy branding for urban cars, and five star for urban SUV's. I don't think electric cars (or pollution transfer vehicles) travel beyond urban. How about nuclear generated for sports cars?

Oh dear, I bet your personal three pin plug will download details of journeys, passengers, tax, insurance, and MOT status to the national database. Automatically extract your mileage fee from your account and fail to connect you to fuel if there is an anomaly.

AND it will download the maximum speed achieved on the journey, fine you and tag your points automatically. If you meet totting up the car will refuse to start for 6 months.

Whether the electric flows will depend on the journey being approved, bearing in mind the car won't move till you've entered the destination and reason, those on the right list will be able to go, others won't.
