The Daily Telegraph has an article pointing to a policy, which turns out to be from Warranty Direct, for £99.
I need to get one - indeed I've been without a breakdown policy for over twelve months, since the SAABs lease deal finished.
Has anyone any experience of WD's breakdown cover?

They probably won't come out to you if they consider the breakdown due to wear and tear.
And if they do come out, the tow truck driver will have the hump because he's only getting half the usual rate.
|
Is that based on actual experience, or hearsay?

If you had cover under your lease its worth checking with the provider if you can carry it on. With VW we managed to keep extending the cover with RAC which was very cheap - think it was something like 80 quid for cover for everything (European, home start etc)

Quotelinedirect do a policy for £59.

Thanks, That's very interesting, and its run by Mondial, who I think run cover for other companies on the European motoring policies. I think they do the legwork for holiday policies as well..
However I was asking for experiences of the Warranty Direct scheme - obviously not much experience of them here. I know of their apparent reluctance to pay out on warranties, but I guess that we generally only hear from disappointed people.
Anyone any experience of Mondial?

I had a mondial recovery policy through my bank years ago. Had the missfortune to need to use it in the UK. Sevice was OK - job was just sub'd out to local recovery guy.
I guess with contracted out work the service may vary
|
I think this is the case with most organisations, even the AA and RAC on occasion.
It certainly was for me in France many years ago, with Green Flag.
The experience then was OK.
I'd use them again, but they're too expensive - I've lived in Yorkshire too long!

Well, I've signed up with Mondial - thanks for the tip - Hopefully I won't need to find out how good they are.
I'll report back if I do.
