Hi CPD, Not an expert but these days the information is out there. A quick look at mytyres dot co dot uk for your size throws up a myriad of choices and links to the tyre test dot com site for each tyre show the Uniroyal Rain Expert to score best in wet handling and braking among the top premium brands avoiding the dish washers as you suggest. .

Hello NeilS
Have used Uniroyal Rain Experts before the Duragrips: wet handling and braking excellent !
Downside is handling feels spongier ( is that the right word?) confirmed by using Rain Experts on front and then back axle. Will try a pair of any recommended tyres on back axle first and if they feel good change the fronts and spare too .

(Vxfan may have already changed my reference to dishfinders already to save further redface moments!)
