Just started to look ariound for a new set of studded winter tyres. Mine are down to the legal limit, but the car itself doesn't have a lot of life left in it either.
I guess the prices are up due to the usual reasons - middle east uprisings/oil prices/exchange rates/global warming/rioting etc. But even the cheapy chinese ditch finders are about £50 for 155-13's.
So I'm scouring the 2nd hand adverts, but what a soul destroying experience. I've lost count of the number of ads that either don't list the size, the tread depth left, or the make of tyre. Surely important information in a tyre advert. Ha, some are even trying to sell tyres with 4mm tread (minimum is 3). Assuming they've been a little generous with the ruler, who's going to pay money for 1/2mm of thread.
