I've been to Vilnius. Trams are more of a hazard than tanks.

The old part of the city's very nice, and it's worth going to Lithuania just to see Trakai Castle. Decent airport too.

One of the stoopidest things I ever did was get a bit squiffy (hadn't seen proper beer for ages after 5 months in Soviet-era Moscow) and walk across the lake to Trakai Castle when it was frozen over. Bricked myself all the way there and back.
