In today's DT letters.
Cost of blowing up tyres has increased from 20p to 50p at some filling station.
Hope this is not typical of motoring inflation in general.

Only if you are daft enough to pay it, I can get compressed air for free at Sainsburys and at home (electric or foot pump).

On the radio this morning they "say" it now costs 3k to run a car in twelve months.
It may do if you do 20k plus a year.

Of far bigger concern is the cost of fuel, which was around 90p per litre two years ago, and sits at £1.34 ish today.
A smaller percentage increase than compressed air, but a much higher impact on all our wallets, both directly and indirectly.
It's added £20-£25 to the cost of filling a typical family runabout, and had an impact on inflation across the entire economy.
I spend about £1,000 a year more on diesel now than I did two years ago. Same journey, same usage pattern, same car. And of course that's £1,000 out of taxed income.
