The header does say "All things motoring" that covers a lot. If it's got wheels and moves on tarmac it should qualify. I bet there is a mod lurking somewhere who will keep us on the black bit. :)

Trouble is all the usuals might find their way here and only the new ones to the other site. And then that leaves few people to answer questions there. Ah well.

Lud will no doubt appear and start appearing. And Rattle is bound to turn up isn't he :-)

Well the idea is that this is YOUR site. So if a load of people think that there should be other sections then so be it.
It will need moderating to some extent. We wouldn't want that to be too heavy handed though. As explained in another post it just has to have a good atmosphere - fun, respect, light-hearted etc.

We haven't had time to put in the code we wanted to as you might have guessed which would help keep some of the dross down and the good stuff to the top. We don't have time for that at the moment unfortunately.

What else were you thinking of instead of cars - bikes?

Well, sort of - although it's a minority interest. I have been to sites where such a sub-forum was born almost moribund. Perhaps it's best not to have such a sub-forum, to encourage cross-talk.

I was very much against the splitting of Discussion and Technical in another site when they did it as I thought many folks with technical understanding (ie answers) may stay in the lounge bar and not venture out into the cold workshop.

This is even more true with different vehicles and I think mention of lorries, motor bikes... perhaps even steam engines and cycles etc... can all be done within the main discussion forum as it helps the conversation flow.

Hm. Perhaps a "Vehicle Type" dropdown in the "New Topic" template? Maybe not needed, though, as people are perhaps drawn to unusually-titled topics.
