A recommendation really...having owned my soft top for 18 months I decided to clean the roof for the first time as the dark blue was very grubby, and I doubt the previous owners ever cleaned it.
I dampened the canvas with a sponge, applied half the 500ml contents with a new 2" brush working outwards, left for 40 minutes, then agitated with a soft scrubbing brush lifting the dirt, and finally sponged off using about 20 buckets of water, again working from the centre.
Hey presto...2 hours later a new fabric roof. A fantastic finish. Then cleaned the car to remove all the grime which came out of the fabric onto the paintwork, and then used Autoglym Insect Remover to clear off the wee beasties (ex) who had the temerity to adorn my car.

I wonder if it's worth applying aerosol waterproofer as used for Barbour jackets?

All the dirt, grease and grime you've removed could have been keeping the water out. :)

Renovo soft top cleaner, treatment etc. is good. Son's MX5 soft top looks as good now as when I fitted it about 5 years ago.

The one time I used renovo on a hood, the hood shrank. I haven't gone anywhere near their stuff since.
