Anybody taken any interest in this new model? (Google it for pics). Looks pretty good to me - designed by Giugiaro. Anyone tempted (if mid-size 4WDs are your thing)? Maybe good competition for the increasingly pricey Hyundai & KIA alternatives?

Summary - Another contender in the rapidly expanding compact crossover sector. Rather good too.
We like - Gutsy engine, lots of passenger space, very quiet cruising
We don't like - Uninspired interior design, small boot, engine noise when idling and accelerating

Having had another butchers at the Ssangyong (awful, awful name) I'd prefer the ix35 or Sportage.

ix35 is a real beaut. Would be my vehicle of choice in that market.
