A neighbour of my mother's has just bought a TT RS convertible. On private plates, so may be a year or two old.
A lovely metallic blue colour, and four pipes out the back.
The first one I have seen, and much as I love my 7 yo 330Ci convertible, I would swap in an instant. Bet he paid more than £10k for it though!

They are very nice. Would like to test pilot one sometime. One of the guys here at work bought one for his wife and is really impressed with it.

Audi don't just raid the VAG parts bin for these either - the engine's obviously theirs, the 5 cyl turbo lump, ~300bhp or so, but the suspension etc. although is the same design* as the other mk5 golf platform cars, it's made from lighter alloy materials.

Common upgrades on lesser cars (like mine) is to raid the TT/S3 parts bin for bolt on upgrades, like the alloy wheel carriers, hubs etc.

The brakes are outstanding.

* They have adjustable wishbones (lighter weight too) that the other PQ35 platform cars don't, so they run with -0.5 degree more static camber, one of the other parts commonly snaffled.

These are the ones where the engine and exhaust sound has been tuned specifically to replicate the 1980s 5-cyl Quattro, aren't they? My kind of engineering.

Dunno Dave...in a previous life I owned an Ur Quattro as I think they were called, the latest 20V version. Bought third hand from a friend, I was too busy working 7 days a week to drive it and sold it after 2 years having driven it less than 8k miles.
It was in a lovely metallic blue, jacquard satin trim, reg G646 JNV if memory serves me correctly. Now that was a car. One day I will get out all my old slides & prints and try to find a photo of it.
And it was the actual car that JC drove in a Top Gear episode around the northern Dales. My ex managed to get me a copy of the clip from Pebble Mill Studios as a Xmas present. Dunno where that is either.
