Hopefully not too OT but currently watching the Peter Andre program on ITV2. It's just shown him going to his car dealer to get the 22" wheels on his Bentley changed for something a bit more sensible, but coming away with a £170k Ferrari California instead. The salesman did a great job selling it too him, persuading him that it was just the practical car he needed.

Wouldn't you love to be able to do that? (BTW I don't resent the fact he can.)

The Rolls drophead is an impressive beast - one turned up at my cricket club a fortnight ago and my 10yo was beside himself with admiration. But that was bronze with a silver bonnet and cream interior; anything that big in black ought to be following - or be - a hearse.

I'm surprised, too, how bad the faux-retro flat dashboard looks. I wonder how the conversation went over breakfast that birthday morning.

The side repeaters, particularly on the rear, look like an afterthought.

I'd still buy one, if I had so much money as to be able to afford it.

I like them although I don't like that particular one.

A Roller should have cream or white leather, piped in a contrasting colour. It needs to be pleated too, that flat effect looks cheap. Especially on the door cards. I can see myself in one of those though, doing the school run.

The dealer seems to have an eclectic mix of cars for sale - from a £750 Astra upwards!

I cannot believe that he keeps his stock at the trading address given - and mobile numbers only.

Presumably at this end of the market it is commission sales only?

Without wishing to plaster some unsuspecting businessman's details all over the web, two minutes' searching reveals a landline lumber tied to that house, business addresses in Berkhamsted, Southend-on-Sea and Gillingham and at least three businesses - two car sales companies and a signwriters. Cars are advertised widely on AT and carandclassic as well as P-heads.

It's scary how much you can find out, in fact.

I note from the original link the seller can't spell 'Phantom', reinforcing my view of car dealers, regardless of the value of the cars.

I'm not knocking him, but the point still stands, I doubt he owns any of those cars.

Apart from anything else where are they - all in 'unit 9a'?

He may well be a respectable intermediary, but there are those who are just dreamers and chancers.
