Looks like you would want to avoid dealing with this firm.................

Some might say the above gargae makes your local rogue trader look like an angel.

There's a dishonourable tradition of dishonesty in the motor trade.

No south east London armed robbery gang would be complete without a motor trader to provide the wheels.

And a dodgy scrap metal dealer to crush the car afterwards.

And a bloke with glasses on the 'inside' to tell the gang where the money would be.

I know these things - I've watched The Sweeney!

It's about time they remade the Sweeney. I was just thinking that this morning while I was listening to Cool For Cats in the car.

I saw that garage on the telly a couple of weeks ago. They attacked the camera crew.

I saw that too. IIRC it was a Sky News investigative piece.

Are these the people that used to trade as 'Heathrow Engineering', with premises in Twickenham, near the rugby ground?

If so, a long history.

I should have written "Heathrow Engines".

Lots of previous.

A few minutes with a search engine will find tales of woe relating to this shower (under various trading names) going back more than a decade. Even Trading Standards haven't been able (or willing) to do anything about them.

Link to Sky News article here:

"The garage, at 192 Brent Road, Southall, first began trading in 1982 as the Heathrow Engine Centre. This company dissolved last year owing creditors £554,573."

What is astonishing is that they've managed to get away with it for so long. I hope these crooks rot. They've had hundreds of thousands of pounds of people's hard earned money, in exchange for little more than shoddy work, threats and intimidation. They are also a disgrace to the many hard working, honest garages and mechanics out there, who have to work doubly hard to overcome the public's inherent distrust, which is directly caused by activities of these kind of crooks.

This garage is famous for all the wrong reasons in Manchester, I just do not understand why anybody would use them.

Why did you decide not to give your custom to this company?
