Not to difficult to find
photobucket.com/albums/m34/Veeeight/DSCF0034.jpg
easier than reverse parking it I guess!

Reverse parking might be easier.
:)

Over anyone we know?
Not dog, was it? ;-)

>> Not dog, was it? ;-)
No. He's still looking for his mouse.
|
It was interesting reversing it because all the trailer axles are steering axles.
It was even harder to climb in and out.
Pat
I still can't get the link to work!
|
My link definitely worked earlier on , it now fails !!!!
pda - have you removed the picture?
iffy - the same type of vehicle.
i100.photobucket.com/albums/m34/Veeeight/DSCF0034.jpg works now but it may become disabled?

That's the one Iffy:)
It never works for me until the Mods have tweaked it because the first [img] wo
n't change to blue as part of the link when I post it. I wish they would tell me why so I could do it properly.

It could do with a wash and polish!

IMG tags do not work (are not needed) on this forum. Leave them out.

So why is it we use them on every other forum, but they are not needed here?
That's why others have the same problem as I do and yes, I do realise it had been discussed before but a search failed to find it.
....and shouldn't be needed.

......and shouldn't be needed...
All will be well when My Drive opens shortly....:)
|
It'll be chaos because Dog always has the same problem as I do when posting a photo link!
Pat
|
>> So why is it we use them on every other forum, but they are not needed here?
Because this is a bespoke forum, and not one out of the box, such as v-bulletin which uses the [img] HTML commands..
A link that takes people to the photo, rather than posting the photo here means that someone else is paying for the server costs to host it, not us.

For a start, this forum's software uses " > and < "; rather than " ] and [ " to bracket tags.
Then this forum bans the use of many html tags, such as marq.... (tents), and size of font
If I type those words below, you will see what happens:
m******
f********
Blame the forum owner/software writer.
It is his ball and he will take it away if you don't like the rules! ;-)

I take your point....but a good marketing manager would insist it was user friendly!

I can try, in a non-techy way...
To get rid of all the extraneous photobucket menus and stuff and just link to the photo on its own, right-click on the picture and select "Copy Shortcut" (or "Copy Image Location" in Firefox) then paste that web address into your forum post. No adding HTML tags or anything. That's how I do it, anyway :)

Pat - you and others may be interested in this link re older tank transporters and accidents that can occur with big/heavy loads!

Thanks PP, some Ooops moments there!

My brother in law drove a tank transporter when doing National Service in the 50's .
He did once tell me of the time he ended up on a charge when he took a wrong turning and ended up causing chaos in the centre of Cambridge .......
|
I was amazed to find this was automatic and it selected 7th gear to pull away in because it was empty.

What make was the machine Pat. I am familiar with Thorneycroft, DAF, MAN and Faun but I couldn't work out your make from the photo.
|
...What make was the machine...
The tractor unit, if not the rest of it, is an oshkosh.
I thought everyone knew that. :)
I've seen a couple around Catterick and the garrison, which is not far from my caravan.

Here are the specs
>>The HET is the most powerful tank transporter in production. It consists of an Oshkosh 1070F 8 x 8 tractor truck and a King Trailer GTS 100 seven axle semi-trailer. Its after-cooled Caterpillar C18 turbocharged diesel engine develops 700bhp<<
I knew I'd never remember all that and that you'd want to know when all I looked at was 'all those wheels':)
