Also on a recent TV cops program they stopped a small car with 11 in it - mostly children.
The driver said he was only going a short distance :_(

The mother was sat on the driver's lap? No wonder she lost control.

The proper way to do it is to push your seat right back and have the child sit between your legs so he can reach the wheel.

Surely that is (unintentionally?) strictly accurate!

Car hits tree, then the driver hits the inside of the car, ie after the primary impact as described :)
