That was the headline.

First thoughts were Toyota were following Hyundai & Kia.

Not quite - this is a Toyota GB warranty extension policy for years 4 & 5...........limited time offer and presumably Warranty Insurance based and not full warranty.

Downside is that a full franchised service history during the 5 years.
Alternative offer is free servicing in 1st 3 years.

The 5 yr warranty or servicing is therefore a marketing initiative rather than following the Korean Warranty trailblazers.

All part of repairing the damage done by the recalls.

If they really offer 5-yr warranty from now on, it is a good thing.
Once you offer 5-yr for sometime and then revert back to 3-yr is not good.
