The tax needs renewing on the Panda, I've managed to find enough pennies as its a massive £30 for the year but if I do it on-line will it arrive in time?
This should be in motoring section, just realised my mistake.
I might do it in the old fashioned way if I can find my insurance certificate the car has no MOT as its too new so I assume they will just need the V5 and insurance certificate?

It nearly always does though the BH pile up round Easter won't help. However, so long as you've paid for it before end April 'disc in the post' is a valid defence for failure to display up to around 7 May.
Do you know if it is sent recording delivery? I've only ever done it once online on my old Corsa, I tended to scrap my other cars before it needed a new disc!.
I normally renew mine as soon as the reminder arrives, but last time i did leave it till a couple of days before the end of the month so printed off the confirmation and kept that in the car until the disc came in the post.
It shouldn't matter if it's a few days late Sheikha. ANPR will know immediately if you have paid for it on line, so no one will bother you for a while.
Its about 950kg I seem to remember, its basic but it still has ABS, airbags, electric windows, central locking, PAS etc etc. The only thing it lacks which saves real weight is the aircon compressor.
Its light weight is more to with the fact it is a small car.
They're alright. I've hired a few. I'd even have one if I never needed to go very far or carry very much. Having said that, if that were the case I'd probably use my bike, so belay that, as you were, ignore that, it was nonsense...
>> Its light weight is more to with the fact it is a small car.
A lot of small cars weight a lot more. My next car will weight at least twice as much when empty which is wrong. I hope more companies start getting clever with build materials.

And more so than the 2.0 16v that replaced it. I had a Phase 2 16v XSi, while a friend had an 8v Phase 1. The older car felt significantly gutsier and more responsive at anything under 5000 RPM.
The later engine developed slightly more peak power (about 10 bhp or so) but seemed to deliver less of it where you really wanted it.
The Vauxhall C20XE proved multivalve engines could be both gutsy and high revving in the mid 80s. it took the competition years to catch up.
>>do you wear white socks to go with your white wheels?<<
Not yet although Im thinking a white flat cap and gold chain will make for a more complete look. Ill leave the white socks to the archaeologist who services your car.

They've changed that - it's the 5th now.
Also, you get 5 working days leeway from prosecution for failing to display into the next month as long as you've already applied for the disk.
I've used the online system many times and the disks come in 2 or 3 days.

Went online to renew mine yesterday....Renewal reminder states £245.00, but online they wanted £260, plus a c.card fee.
Hey ho, still cheap at less than a pound a day to guarantee a big smile on my face at some point during every drive.

All this agonising over what may or may not happen can't be good for your health. Go to a Post Office and get the tax disc there and then.
>> ripped it in half rushing to get round the perforations...........
Thank you Bb for mentioning the DVLA's idea of easy-tear perforations. More like a perfect circle of six .44 magnum holes shot by Clint Eastwood through the thorax of some gothic Plains toerag.
By the time I get the thing out it's always in tatters. And then I still have to stuff it through a slit in a bit of plastic on top of all the old ones. Often settles upside down too.
