This from the "Smoking in Cars/Rabies" thread, where "air fresheners" were mentioned.

Do you have one (or more) of these things in your car? The tree-shaped cardboard-impregnated-with-stuff sort, or another?

I would observe that the latter, above, smell absolutely horrid, in my opinion.

What's your point of view?

They make my eyes water.

Give me the soft aroma of a freshly lit Marlboro Red mingled with the scent from a newly poured cup of strong black coffee wafting gently from the cupholder. Window cracked open two or three inches to suck the smoke out and some John Lee Hooker on the ICE, a tank full of fuel and the open road at some ungodly hour of the night. Can reach northern Italy in one hit when so equipped if you don't count wee breaks.....

Air fresheners ? Jeez.....

Some Chanel No. 5, wafting off the warm body of a 21 year old scantily clad leggy blonde as you drive to that weekend break on the Cote D'Zur.

Warm McDonald's in the footwell - the anticipation of a pig out.

Sad, I know, but at least it's accessible.

Scantily clad leggy blondes, indeed. :)

You aim as low as you want, mate. I'm shooting for the stars.

I like your style Robin. Knowing my luck the 21 year old leggy/smelly/blonde would turn to me and purr........

"you know something funny darling ?.......you look just like one of my dad's friends....."
