The article implies it's just been presented to ARPA, so perhaps that's progress of a sort?

At least the rotary engine idea should be quiet and smooth. Can't help but think Felik's one looks like it'd be clattery and metalic sounding.

Seems to me to be developing at a pace now that its got an application, that is a small power unit for hybrid type vehicles.

Looks like it will loose some of the power of the bang as the exhaust piston rises.
