It does raise the question again of how strong these barriers are. Ok this particular incident was a car park but I have noticed that in the Glasgow area, Kingston Bridge for example, I am not fully convinced that the barriers at the side would stop you going over.

OK, I know these are designed for glancing blows to bounce you back onto the carriageway but try telling me a jack knifing lorry would not go straight through this?

I travel on the raised section of the M5 between Gordano and Clevedon quite often - tinyurl.com/3aw7fgf - the southbound carriageway is a good 30 feet above the northbound in places. All there is to keep a vehicle going over the edge and onto the opposite lane is a single barrier which looks rather flimsy, I certainly can't see it holding up a loaded transit at 90.
