Well it was until someone realised they'd put the decimal in the wrong place.

That could cost them £1000's, not only would ASDA loose out on the fuel they would still need to pay I think around 70p tax per litre which they sell! Ouch.

I think somebody will be in big trouble.

Fuel is paid for on delivery, so the duty would have already been paid...:-)

Staff managed to put a decimal point in the wrong place on all of the unleaded pumps on the site? I'm not quite following this!

Guessing that all the pumps are networked back to a central computer where the wrong price was entered.

Wow - that is serious technology! That would have meant every ASDA garage in the country selling at the wrong price, or would it? I do follow your line of reasoning thought.

No, only on that one particular filling site I would imagine.

Serious technology? Hardly.

No different to a shop having 10, 20, or more tills that link back to a computer where the prices of the products are stored.
