The section on hidden speed cameras - one inside a lump of cheese - is amusing.

French speed cameras are not enforceable here.
The point about the legislation changing and French (and other's) speed cameras being enforceable in this country is true to a degree in that it is being discussed at govt levels...but...it's been a 'maybe' for years...... and is no closer to reality.
Even if it were to be enforceable, there are not many Police Forces with the time or inclination to attend anyone's home address to interview them about a potential French non serious motoring offence...so it would be a letter only...then what? if you ignore it, a summons to a British court for a French speeding offence? I think not.
The reality is it's on the 'too difficult' pile.

I have been flashed twice by the same camera in different years, second time I was thinkng "there is a camera along here somewhere . . . " and saw it too late.
Had great fun telling our fleet manager I had been flashed by a camera at 105 . . . . . .
Didn't tell him until later that it was 105kph in a 90kph limit.
Have slowed down now so don't wory about them

You should be more concerned about Gendarmes with hand-held speed detectors on the autoroutes than the speed cameras. They tend to hide behind bridge supports, etc.
Just stick to the limit and save money and stress.

And on the RNs. We were done last summer by a hiding Gendarme. On the excellent RNs especially the straight bits its difficult to stick to the 90 without feeling you are going too slow (or so SWMBO claimed!) 90euro later we were back on our way...

The average French car driver will flash his headlights at you to warn you.
