Last couple of weeks I have noticed considerably less traffic in South East (Beds/Bucks/Herts).
IIRC, it is not school holiday now.
Then why fewer cars on road? Is it because people are indeed not driving due to fuel price hike?
PS: Few days ago, a news on Daily Mail also claimed this is the case. Can't find the link now.

My dad who is retired was saying that even they have cut down their car use, making joined up journeys rather than just popping to the shops for one or two things - so if its not just him doing this, and its not, then it will have an effect.
They can afford the petrol hikes as they collectively only do 8k a year between them over two cars, but he said he is preparing for the £2.50 a litre scenario which would start to make itself felt.

If (when) the middle east goes pear shaped in a big way the £2.50 litre is a distinct possibility as is rationing.
As we have our fingers in two middle eastern countries wars, are stirring things up behind the scenes in others, having already ruined another we are not making many friends out there.
