I've been looking round for a sensible every day car that isn't too slow or too thirsty. I've been wondering about the last generation celicas. Don't like the look of them much as the second to last ones are much prettier but the VVTI engines seem to be quite quick and moderately economical.
What sort of mileage will they go to without being knackered? I have seen a few with nearly 200k on them. 20k service levels and if they're like other toyotas they go for an annual service and MOT and need nothing in between.

all parts wear out including engines/ancilleries
do some sums on parts like wishbones, exhausts, etc before committing to a foreign imported limited selling high miler

I don't think it can be worse than a skyline :-) It also depends on what the service history is like too. The one I'm looking at has just passed an MOT with no advisories which suggests it is in OK condition.

People speak highly of Hyundai Coupes. I admit to quite liking them myself but my wife feels they might smack of a wife-swapping lounge lizard sort of image. I suppose I could get a medallion and grow my sideburns if I ever bought one...On second thoughts, no, I'll not bother, I'd almost certainly end up with the fat, gobby one from number 46....

Finding straight one that has not gone through a hedge/wall/up a banking will be difficult - lots about but what is their history?

It's the same with a lot of cars. Will be checking for panel alignment and colour across all panels :-)
