Only the tank, not the boot.

We had a slightly dotty customer at the garage who topped up the oil on his Morris 1100 with water.
Not the absolute daftest mistake to make for someone who is not mechanically minded.
We drained a couple of gallons of very watery emulsified oil, refilled with fresh oil, and away the car went, apparently none the worse.
|
Once, I topped up the oil in a car I had with windscreen washer fluid. No idea what happened though as I sold the car not long after.
|
An apprentice was told to check the oil on a van and fill it.
He removed the oil filler cap. It only took a few gallons.

"service station staff dialled 999"
Who on earth do you get if you dial 999 in Germany?
112 is a much better bet.
|
Its the special number you dial in Germany if you see some thing that makes you say
'No-no-no'. Sort of inbetween a full on life/death emergency and a locking yourself out of the house.

I once read somewhere it was the direct line to the headquarters of the Geheimestaatspolizie. The Germans found it quite funny, apparantly.

An angry German - "Nein, nein, nein!"
