Lovely.

Chapeau! A real US car (rather than muscle car or rod or custom car) enthusiast. Of course they do exist in quite large numbers, but are a bit too boring and nerdish for mainstream media celebrity. That prefers clouds of smoke and the mighty lopsided roar of supercharged 14-litre V8s.

Well, neither would I actually. But I like precious old real-world carp with the patina of history on it too.

All car lovers have a Philistine side and a skewed, dehumanised psychology verging on barminess. The automobile presents the human organism with a mass of contradictions. I'm happy with them myself as I imagine many are here in the pub. But lots of people aren't.
