Some doubt in the comments as to the source of the picture ie. Jaguar or magazine's own guesswork?
|
Looks like a squashed XF.
|
It's a guess from AE - but the intent is clear from Jaguar - it will be a svelte machine given Jag's latest cars.
|
As long as it is a Jaguar and not a Jaguarnt as was the Mondeo based X-type

Never been able to work that one out.
Do people say a Bentley isn't a proper Bentley because it's got the underpinnings of a 7 series BMW?
...or an Audi isn't any good because it shares stuff with VW/Seat/Skoda?
The X Type had 18% of the Mondeo...and the Mondeo was/is a good car anyway...then when you factor in how well Jag do the wood/leather bit, inc in the X Type, what's the issue?
|
>> A pocket Jaguar ?
Just another boring-looking Eurobox?
|
In fairness the big Jags are anything but - they'll want to take that kudos down-market..
|
Seem to be mixed messages - the other magazine is headlining a "Jag's new 3 series" plus a baby SUV, with prices starting at £40,000.

V low profile tyres and a low front spoiler.. so useless on speed humps or potholed roads.
No use in UK then...

They will probably sell far more in countries with decent roads so will be biased towards their markets.

Arguably the last proper Bentley was built in 1931 in Cricklewood...

The X-Type drives differently, more Jaguar-like, than the Mondeo.
I remember listening to an American Jaguar executive, who had obviously come over from Ford.
He said the designers had put 'Jaguar-ness' into the X-Type.
Except he pronounced it: 'Jagwar-ness'.
|
Jagwar is how they say it where Jaguars come from:) We mangle many names: Trafalgar, Himalaya, Nike etc. But I'd stick to natively-mangled Jaguar in't pub, not that I go very often.
|
if the new jag looks like that and still starts around £20k then i'll buy one.
|
A tin box with a badge, fashion victims form a queue. :-)
|
then again if its 1series size it's too small but something a little smaller than the xf would be great if it cost £20 k
